
KAMPALA – The Secretariat of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has extended the deadline for the mass registration exercise by a further two days following overwhelming turn out.
NRM public relations officer Rogers Mulindwa announced that the exercise, which was meant to end on Sunday, March 15, will now end on Tuesday, March 17.
He said that the extension was informed by the fact that many members received yellow books late and started registration late.
Earlier on Sunday, NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba was In West Nile Region to supervise the NRM Party membership Registration Exercise.
The SG kicked off her supervisory activities at Alima Kodra Village, in Koboko Municipality where she registered a number of new members into the yellow book.
Ms Lumumba thanked the party members for turning up in big numbers to participate in the ongoing countrywide exercise. She also thanked them for always supporting and voting NRM at all levels.
She further urged them to maintain peace and stability by always sticking to NRM party candidates.
Ms Lumumba thanked the village leadership for supervising the registration exercise and urged them to be even more vigilant in the remaining Days.
The NRM Secretary General also visited the party offices in Koboko Municipality where she was welcomed by a number of party leaders led by the NRM District Chairperson Mrs Medina Nahan, the NRM Municipality Chairperson Mr Alemi Innocent Paul, NRM Sub County Chairpersons among others. The SG heaped praise on party leaders for always using Internal Mechanism in solving issues amongst themselves.
She urged them to extensively mobilize Party members to take Part in the Registration exercise as well as encouraging them to take part and support all Party Activities.
