
KAMPALA – Leading Pentecostal Church, Watoto Church has revealed that one of its choir members tested positive to the deadly COVID19.
In a statement to the Watoto Family, his morning (27 March), Pastor Julius Rwotlonyo, Associate Team Leader Watoto informed the Watoto Family that one of the adult chaperones on our Watoto Children’s Choir, who
returned home from a tour to the UK a week ago, tested positive for Coronavirus.
Rwotlonyo added that the individual has been isolated from the rest of the group after displaying mild
symptoms, “Health officials from the Ministry of Health ran tests and verified these as positive. We are monitoring his condition closely. His family has been informed and we’re in constant contact with them.”
Watoto also said that they’re working closely with Ministry Of Health
and the assigned health workers to follow all the necessary precautions to curb any further spread of the virus.
“The choir of 12 children and 10 adults have been quarantined since their arrival at Entebbe International Airport on 20 March 2020. At this moment none of the other members have displayed any symptoms of the virus. We’re praying for a full recovery, and the health and safety of everyone who has been affected by this pandemic” said Pastor Rwotlonyo.
Watoto Church officials also thanked the Church Family for the support and encouragement of friends and partners in Uganda and around the world during the trying pandemic times.
Watoto Church also vowed to continue to take every precaution to ensure the continued health and safety of all of our children and every member of the Watoto family, “We continue to pray and believe that God will carry us through this challenging season,” the statement read in part.
The Church also vowed to protect the privacy of the affected Team Member in fulfillment of its confidentiality policies, appointing Pastor Rwotlonyo as the only official Spokesman for all matters
relating to COVID-19.
