
KAMPALA — Presidential hopeful and leader of People Power Bobi Wine has unveiled Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru as his deputy.
Dr. Zedriga Waru, an accomplished activist and a self-described “mother and war-widow”, was unveiled at People Power offices in Kamwokya where the Kyandondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi also flagged off relief aid to the coronavirus national task force.
Bobi Wine described Dr. Zedriga as “an ctivist, mediator, former judicial officer, expert at security, trainer of trainers, writer and mentor”
Dr. Zedriga is known for role pressuring government to take ownership of the issue of sexual violence and to implement the full range of commitments under the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework.
She’s a former member of The Association for Women Lawyers-FIDA and Women’s Civil Society Leader.
Zedriga of Northern Uganda, is the director of a leadership training program (Zedriga) that promotes unity among all those affected by the northern Uganda war.
Zedriga worked with soldiers and many other organizations in Uganda to make sure kids are kept off the streets and do not succumb to the violence that constantly surrounds them.
In the aftermath of the war, Zedriga worked every day to see that children soldiers reintegrate themselves into society.
