KAMPALA – NBS Television news anchor Samson Kasumba has been arrested by the police.
It is understood that Mr Kasumba was picked up on Monday night, shortly after co-anchoring 9 pm news bulletin with Sheila Nduhukire, on yet unspecified charges.
His colleague Bashir Kazibwe who is also the Uganda Journalist Association (UJA) President, said they were following up the matter with a view of securing his freedom.
According to Mr. Kazibwe, Mr. Kasumba, a journalist and programme host at NBS Television is currently detained at Kiira Road police station.
