
AGAGO – Agago District Police Commander Samson Lubega has been arrested for allegedly allowing a businessman to hold a party in disregard of the presidential directives to contain the spread of coronavirus allegation.
Mr Lubega, who was was arrested on Sunday, April 27, is reported to have allowed Francis Onek, a resident of Patongo town council, to organize a party of 30 people, which the DPC himself attended.
Aswa Region Police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the arrest.
He said that the DPC following a tipoff by area residents.
Mr Okema added that Mr Onek had also been on their wanted list after he refused to hand himself over to the authorities for isolation after he returned from Dubai, UAE on March 17.
“Earlier the District task force had asked him to isolate himself , but he refused and took off to unknown destination only to appear on the day of the party,’’ he said
Mr Okema said all those who attended the party will be screened and quarantined.
