
KAMPALA – Kampala International University proprietor who is also the university’s Chairman Board of Trustees (CBOT), Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba, has donated UGX100M to the National Taskforce on COVID-19 in response to the presidential call to support Ugandans in this challenging time.
Previously, the CBOT, oversaw the implementation of a series of measures at the KIU Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for Coronavirus preparedness.

Among others, these measures include, establishing a rapid response unit and an isolation ward which holds patients who fit the case definition as per the Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines, COVID-19 awareness sensitization on community radio and setting up a fulltime Information Desk.
In 2018, the KIU Teaching Hospital was ranked the fourth-best referall hospital in the country and the best hospital in western Uganda.
