KAMPALA – The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and its Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni, on Sunday, April 19, contributed Shs380 million to support the campaign against COVID-19.
The cheque was presented to Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda and the Emmanuel Katongole- led National COVID-19 Fund team at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala.
The party donation comes after Bukedea district Woman Member of Parliament Anita Among donated relief food worth UGX 100 million to government to be distributed to the vulnerable urban poor affected by the #COVID19 outbreak.
Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda commended the legislator for the gesture, appealing to other political leaders to emulate her and respond to the presidential call for relief support.
