ISHAKA – Yasin Mukasa, a laboratory attendant at Kampala International University (KIU) Teaching Hospital passed away.
Mukasa died on Sunday, April 26 at the university hospital where he had been admitted since Wednesday with health complications originating from stomach ulcers. He is survived by a widow and one child. The widow is expecting their second child.
Dr Akib Olabisi, the Deputy Executive Director of KIU Teaching Hospital said “It is really so sad. He will surely be missed, he was dedicated. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
The Hospital Administrator Peninah Kanyange also expressed her regret at Mukasa’s death.
“It’s very sad to lose such a young, very hard working and self-motivated staff. For the little time I got to know him, Yasin was very humble but with words of wisdom. He worked very hard to achieve organizational goals. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Kanyange said.
Winnie Atweta, a staff member said “Yasin, may your soul rest in peace. We have not even reached at your internal house but we are so sad. May the Lord have mercy on the wife, parents and all your friends,” Atweta posted.
Mukasa was laid to rest at his parents’ home in Nyabubaare sub-county, Bushenyi district on Sunday.
