
ENTEBBE – President Museveni has said he will host the national prayers on Saturday, May 9, 2020, as the country fights the COVID-19 pandemic.
Museveni through his social media platforms noted that he has invited religious leaders to join him.
“The televised prayers will start at 1pm. I urge all Ugandans to pray for our country while observing the health guidelines,” reads the post in part.
The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country stands at 101.
Uganda has so far registered 55 recoveries since the first person to be confirmed with Covid-19 in Uganda, was reported in March this year.
Worldwide, there are currently 3,948,200 confirmed cases, 271,782 deaths and 1,358,286 recoveries from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of May 08, 2020 at 5:00 PM, according to Waldometer.
