MASINDI – The man who tested positive of Coronavirus in Masindi District on Friday is a police officer, officials have revealed.
On Friday, the Ministry of Health reported that the Ugandan together with a Kenyan truck driver tested positive of the deadly virus. The ministry added that the Ugandan case was from a community survey while the Kenyan truck driver returned to his country.
And now it has emerged that the Ugandan is a police officer who was tested through the ongoing public survey by the Ministry of Health in Masindi, Bulisa, Hoima and Ntoroko districts.
Masindi Deputy Resident District Commissioner Bahebwa Longino said the police officer has been isolated.
“We have isolated him and we are now looking for his contacts” Bahebwa said.
Last week, the Ministry of Health and the Cabinet dispatched a team of 18 doctors to selected districts at high risk of contracting the Covid-19 to randomly test suspects and give a report on the status of the tested people to the ministry of health as it will be used by the President in determining on whether to lift the lockdown or not by May 5.
