KAMPALA — The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has announced it will switch off water supply in the city beginning Sunday , June 28, 8:00am to 5:00Pm as they conduct a system upgrade to improve water supply in the city.
In a statement issued Friday June 26, the NSWC said the process is to enable the UMEME engineers undertake a routine maintenance at Ggaba substation to improve power supply reliability at Ggaba water works.
“Subsequently, water production in all treatment plants, pumpage at all booster stations and supply networks within Kampala will be affected,” the NWSC said in a public notice.
The authorities have since advised city dwellers to store enough water and use it sparingly, noting that “it takes time for the system to stabilize after a total plant shutdown”.
