
KAMPALA — Leading opposition figures; Dr. Kizza Besigye and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine have for the first time ever, held a joint meeting on building a strong coalition as the country approaches 2021 General Elections.
The meeting, happening now, Monday June 15, 2020 is at Rose Garden in Wakiso District, is also being attended by JEMA’s Asuman Basalirwa and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago while observing social distance while others are putting on masks.
Dr. Besigye is the head of peoples’ government, a pressure group within FDC formed shortly after losing the 2016 election to incumbent Yoweri Museveni while Bobi Wine who has declared his candidature for 2021 election heads People Power group.
The meeting started by presenting a joint communiqué on the status quo including the effects of coronavirus on Ugandans — suggesting possible alternatives.
It was presented by Bugiri Municipality MP Asumani Basalirwa and Kampala Lord Mayor, Mr Erias Lukwago who subscribes to People’s Government.
