
KAMPALA – The Uganda High Commission in South Africa coordinated the Repatriation of Ugandans who were stranded in SouthAfrica, Eswatini, Botswana,Lesotho,Namibia and Zimbabwe.
A total of 62 Ugandan Nationals and legal residents who have been stranded in the Southern Africa region were seen off on July 2 at the OR Tambo International Airport aboard Uganda Airlines.
They are expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport on July 2, 2020 at 6:00pm.
Among some of the returnees are notable personalities; Uganda’s former Chief Justice His Lordship Benjamin Odoki currently working in the Kingdom of Eswatini since his retirement in Uganda.
Other personalities include Tineyi Emmanuel Mawocha the CEO Opportunity Bank Uganda Ltd and Onapito Ekolomoit former Head of the Presidential Press Unit, State House Uganda among others.
The Acting High Commissioner to South Africa Amb. Kintu Nyago, Mr. Julius Kivuna (Minister Counselor), Ms. Sarah Nakamya, (Counselor) Ms. Joy Jogole (Immigration Attache) and other Mission Staff facilitated the process.
