
KAMPALA — The Ministry of Health has confirmed eight new cases on Thursday from 2,405 samples analysed on Wednesday July 15.
Of the 8 new cases, two 7 are community infections while one is among returnees.
Thursday’s cases have pushed Uganda’s cumulative infections to 1,053 while active cases are now 194.
Two of the cases were identified from Kampala and Kagadi districts while five are contacts; three were identified from Amuru and two from Lamwo districts.
All Ugandan truck drivers who arrived from neighbouring countries including Tanzania, Kenya and South Sudan tested negative for the virus.
Additionally, 10 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for coronavirus were denied entry into Uganda.
