
KAMPALA – Ministry of health has confirmed 77 new coronavirus cases from tests done on August 27,2020.
This rises the total confimed cases to 2,756.
According to MOH, 65 are alerts and contacts with 42 from Kampala, 4 from Amuru, 4 from Mukono, 4 from Kikuube, 3 from Wakiso, 3 from Luweero, 2 from Arua, 3 from Bundibugyo, Busia and Jinja with one case each district.
9 health workers were also infected with 5 from Kampala, 2 from Kikuube, 1 from Arua and 1 from Gulu.
“Truck drivers(3) from different points of entry: Vurra-1, Malaba-1 and Busia-1,” reads a statement from MOH.
The ministry further revealed that 9 truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the different border points and their entry into the country was not permitted.
The death toll stands at 28 whereas the COVID-19 recoveries are 1,288.
