KAMPALA – Mike Mabikke has denied authoring a Facebook post indicating that he was parting ways with National Unity Platform (NUP) party over lack of democracy.
A Facebook post attributed to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) president had indicated that he was quitting NUP, which he joined in August 3, saying its President, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi, was a dictator.
But Mabikke, while appearing on Bilal FM on Sunday, vehemently denied quitting NUP. He said his Facebook account was hacked into by people who posted fake news indicating he had decamped and returned to DP. He said the hackers are being hunted and will be prosecuted for their criminal act
“I would like to clarify once again to MP Bakireke Nambooze

It is clear that the honorable’s views are written in poor faith,” he later posted on his Facebook page.
“In regard to NUP primaries, I lead the pack in Makindye east in nearly every regard be it qualifications, experience, contribution to the struggle or popularity and any free and fair candidate selection process will come to the same conclusion. Hacking is a criminal Offense and Police cyber crime unit has already commenced its investigations into this matter,” he added.
