
KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 124 coronavirus infections from tests done on September 7, 2020.
According to the MOH, this rises the total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 3,900.
Part of the cases are 105 contacts and alerts with 37 from Kampala, 15 from Wakiso, 11 from Kitgum, 6 from Buikwe, 6 from Masaka, 5 from Kikuube, 4 from Namisindwa, 4 from Pader, 3 from Jinja, 3 from Oyam, 2 from Arya, 2 from Bundibugyo, 2 from Kasese, 1 from Adjumani, 1 from Hoima, 1 from Kiboga, 1 from Mbale and 1 from Ngora.
The ministry further noted that 13 health workers; 2 from Apac, 2 from Hoima, 1 from Tororo, 1 from Masaka, 1 from Kikuube, 1 from Oyam, 1 from Jinja, 1 from Gulu and 1 from Kasese also tested positive for coronavirus.
Additionally, 4 returnees from Kenya, Rwanda, Oman and Pakistan were infected with coronavirus.
“Truck drivers (2) from different points of entry; Mpondwe(1), Lia (1),”the ministry said in a statement.
One congolese truck driver tested positive for COVID-19 and his entry into the country was not permitted.
Two COVID-19 deaths have been reported on September 8,2020 bringing the total deaths to 46.
” One male aged 53 years old from Paliisa and one male aged 50 years”
The total coronavirus recoveries stand at 1,817.
