
KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 181 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on September 20, 2020.
This brings the total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 6,468.
According to the ministry, part of the new cases are 157 alerts and contacts from previously confimed cases.
“Kampala (73),Mbale (19),Kapchorwa (26), Soroti (10),Jinja (5),Kaberamaido (5),Kumi (3), Buikwe (2),Iganga (2),Isingiro (2), Ngora (3), Busia (1), Kaliro (1),Kanungu (1), Masaka (1), Rakai (1), Sironko (1) and Wakiso (1),”reads part of the statement from MOH.
The ministry further revealed that 21 returnees with 20 from India and 1 from Tanzania tested positive for COVID-19.
Additionally 3 truck drivers via Malaba point of entry were infected with coronavirus.
The death toll according to health ministry’s statistics is at 63 and 2,731 have so far recovered from COVID-19.
