
BUSHENYI – Canon Zabron Rushambuza, a famous businessman and prominent church leader from Ntungamo village, in Bushenyi District, has died.
The 93-year-old Rushambuza, popularly known as Ai Mukama, died on Saturday night following a long illness. Burial date has not been set.
He was a very important man both in religious and business circles. To many, he was a braggart, who always praised his achievements, including those of his children, to whoever cared to listen.
However, he is renowned for his big heart. He was the chairman of Batizi ba Bagoma in kitembe. He loved religion and he is one of the people who built Nyakabirizi church of Uganda. He was the first people to start brick making in Bushenyi, and he built most of the buildings in Bushenyi, He was the 2nd person to build a storeyed house in Bushenyi.
His sons are big businessmen in Kampala. Rushambuza was born in 1927 to Mutimbo and Kabera. Mutimbo was the leader of Abagoma clan of Igara.
His children are successful businessmen. One of them, Apollo Mutungi, is the owner of Quality Supermarket in Kampala, while Obadiah Ntebekeine imports cars for sale.
