
KAMPALA — City lawyer Bob Kasango has died from Luzira State Prison reportedly due to heart failure.
His nephew, a one Bolton has confirmed Kasango’s death.
“My Uncle Bob Kasango has died due to heart failure. Last met him at the prison before COVID-19. Rest well my uncle you have been such a great lawyer outside and inside prison. We will always remember you for your kindness and generosity,” posted his nephew Bolton.
Mr. Kasango was serving a 16-year sentenced condemned to him by the anti – corruption court for forgery, conspiring and stealing UGX15.4 billion which was meant for pensioners.
He was sentenced alongside former top ministry of public service officials including; former permanent secretary of Ministry of Public Service Jimmy Lwamafa , former principal accountant in the Pension department Christopher Obeyand Stephen Kiwanuka , former commissioner for Compensation Department in the same ministry.
Details about his death are still scanty.
