KAMPALA — President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander-In-Chief of the armed forces has promoted five senior officers of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces – UPDF to different ranks.
Gen. Asiimwe is the Commandant of the Uganda Military Engineering College (UMEC), an Institute of Science and Technology of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
In the new Promotions, Brig. Gen Dennis Assimwe has been elevated to Maj. Gen while for UPDF Colenels have been promoted to Brigadier General.
Those promoted to Brigadier General include Col. John Nsubuga Wasswa, Col. Godfrey Sambwa Kimbowa, Col. Edison Muhanguzi and Col. Frank Kyakonye.
“The UPDF fraternity congratulates them for their patriotic service to our country Uganda,”army spokesperson Flavia Byekwaso said in a statement confirming the promotions.
