
KAMPALA — President Museveni has dropped seven Permanent Secretaries in the shake up announced on Thursday July 15.
President Museveni who appointed Ms. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye as the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet and Jane Barekye as the State House Comptroller, also announced he had “retired seven permanent Secretaries in public interest”.
They are Ms Christine Guwatudde Kintu, of the Office of Prime Minister, Ms Jane Kibirige, the Clerk to Parliament, Dr. Benon Mutambi, of Internal Affairs, David Ebong, among others.
Ms. Guwatudde Kintu who has been Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister has replaced with Mr. Keith Muhakanizi who has been PS, Ministry of Finance and Secretary to the Treasury.

Ms. Guwatudde was no stranger to charges of corruption and embezzlement of both government and donor funds.
She is still undergoing prosecution for raising food prices in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Agriculture Ministry PS Mr. Pius Wakabi who is under spotlight over locusts missing cash has been dropped and replaced with Maj. Gen David Kyomukama Kasura.
Ambassador Patrick Samuel Mugabwe Mugoya who has been Foreign Affairs PS has been sacked. He is replaced with Vincent Bagiire who has been transferred from ICT Ministry.
Dr. Benon Mugisha Mutambi who has served as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, since December 2016 has been with Lt. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu.

Mr. Kivumbi Mohamed Lutaaya who has PPS office of the Vice President has been sacked. Mr. Alex Kakooza who has PS Ministry of Education takes charge.
Ms. Jane Kibirige who has been Clerk to Parliament has been dropped in Thursday reshuffle and replaced with former Minister of Defence Adolf Mwesigye.
Mwesige who is also the former Member of Parliament Bunyangabu County asked President Museveni to consider him for either the position of chairperson or member of UHRC.
