
KAMPALA —The 5th Meeting of the 4th National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) that sat on Wednesday July 7 approved the appointment of Dr. Richard Awany Todwong as the new NRM Secretary General.
President Yoweri Museveni last month named the party’s former deputy secretary general, Richard Todwong, as the new secretary general, and former national party treasurer, Rose Namayanja, as the new deputy secretary general.
CEC meeting also nominated and approved former State Minister for Primary Education Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde — replacing Mathias Kasamba as the Director of Mobilisation.
Kasamba who was working as the director of mobilisation and cadre identification for the ruling NRM died early this year at Nakasero Hospital.
In a statement on Thursday, Todwong said CEC also approved names of the Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons anz Members of the Parliamentary Standing anz Sessional Committees of the 11th Parliament.
Other developments, he said, CEC also directed the NRM Electoral Commission to start the process of expression of interest for the by election of the EALA representative replacing Kasamba and the election of ghe NRM Parliamentary Caucus Executive of the 11th Parliament.
