
KAMPALA — Former head of the Public Relations Association of Uganda Ms. Sarah Kagingo has been appointed the Principal Press Secretary to the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.
Ms. Kagingo also a former special presidential assistant for communication is a PR and communications professional with a big online following.
She has often used her social platforms to promote Uganda’s natural beauty as well as all positive aspects of the country.
The PR guru also runs SoftPower news, a flagship online news portal of SoftPower Communications LLC, a digital communications consultancy agency among others.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among has also named top NBS TV journalist Joseph Sabiti to manage communications in her office.
Sabiti previously had a short stint at Action Aid International as Communications Officer before returning to newsroom for 2021 general polls.
He also worked with the now-defunct WBS TV.
Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition in Mathias Mpuuga has named former Observer journalist Sadab Kitatta
to take charge of his communication in changes announced by Parliament on Thursday.
The three press secretaries will work under the Directorate of Communications and Public Affairs headed by Chris Obore.
Their appointment means Obore will speak for the institution of Parliament while the three will handle the communications and affairs of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of Opposition.
Mr. Obore said on Tuesday that Ms Kagingo, Sabiti and Kitata were recruited by the Parliamentary Commission and are staff of Parliament.
