The state Minister for Microfinance Hon Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo was on Sunday in Masaka district at Bbuliro playground, Kyesiiga subcounty.
The Minister had gone to officiate the launch of Hon Kasolo Christmas Cup Bukoto central and the occasion was attended but thousands of people who came from different parts of Masaka.
During his speech at the launch, Hon Kasolo said he has very many plans to develop Masaka District and among these is inviting his fellow Ministers and Members of Parliament for a fundraising function that will see the money directed towards the construction of religious places like churches and Mosques in Bukoto Central, Masaka District.
Hon Kasolo also promised to construct public toilets at Ddimo landing site in Bbuliro, Kyanamukaaka.
The Christmas Cup is also an initiative of the Minister to bring his people of Masaka together to promote peace, unity and a good working environment.
The Christmas Cup is a football tournament that consists of 19 teams that are made from two sub counties of Bukoto central that include Kyesiiga and Kyanamukaka.
The games will climax on Christmas day in a big event that will see the different winners in different categories awarded. According to the organisers, the winner will take home shs10,000,000 and a bull, in second position, the team will go home with Shs5,000,000 and a bull and third position will be Shs3,000,000 and a bull and finally in the fourth position, it will be a cash prize of Shs1,000,000 and a bull.
