LWENGO – Global bus with registration number UBB 985M on August 28th, 2023, at around 11:00 AM overturned a along the Kampala-Mbarara Road.
The accident happened at Kyekurura, shortly after Kinoni center in Lwengo District, part of Greater Masaka.
According to Police, the driver lost control due to the slippery road conditions caused by heavy rain.
One person sustained serious injuries in the accident and later passed away.
“Local authorities and bystanders swiftly responded, transporting the injured individuals to nearby health centers. Ambulances are being awaited to transfer them to Masaka Referral Hospital for further medical attention,” said Kasirye Twaha, Public Relations Officer, Greater Masaka,
Police cautioned all drivers particularly on slippery roads during this rainy season to avoid speeding to prevent such accidents.
