KAMPALA – Last week, media has been a wash of disturbing news when husband and wife were attacked and killed in land wrangles.
Namutebi Milly Naava and her husband, Abudalah Kayezi of Kilwanyi village, Kilwanyi parish, Kiruma Subcounty, Mubende district were in the morning of July 31 ambushed by a group of approximately 30 individuals before they were lynched.
Their two sons, Ssekamate Muzafaru and Ibrahim Kaluma, were also left with serious injuries.
On Sunday, August 6, one Tumusiime Benjamin, who police claims is led the said group was arrested.
“The unfortunate attack occurred while the victims were leaving Tumusiime Benjamin’s home, resulting in the tragic death of Namutebi Milly Naava and her husband, while their two sons sustained serious injuries but managed to escape,” said Racheal Kawala, Police Spokesperson, Wamala Region.
“Tumusiime Benjamin was successfully apprehended today, August 6, 2023, at around 10:00 AM by a joint task team consisting of CID and Crime intelligence in Watuba town, Wakiso. He is currently in custody at Mubende CPS,” she added in a statement.
According to police, a total of six suspects have been arrested in connection to this murder case, while further inquiries are ongoing.
