MPIGI – Police in Katonga and Mpigi district, have in custody an Italian national on allegations of raping a 23-year-old maid.
Forouzesh Patrick, a 53-year-old, is said to have committed a crime on September 5, 2023 at around 5 p.m.
It is said that the suspect met the victim at her sister’s place, who deals in chicken feed at Mpami village, and offered her a job as a housemaid, at a monthly pay of Ugx200.000/=.
“The victim started work the following day, September 4, 2023, but while cleaning the table, she was grabbed by the suspect, dragged into the sofa and raped. The suspect claimed it was common to have sex during rain,” said Enanga Fred – Police Spokesperson in a statement.
The victim informed her sister on September 6, 2023, before the matter was reported at Mpigi police station. The victim was medically examined and DNA samples were obtained.
“We continue to investigate such kind of suspects who take advantage of female workers, and sexually assault them. The police in coordination with the ODPP will ensure the suspect is charged to court, to help bring justice to the victim.”
