Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the prime suspect in the murder of former Ndiga clan leader Eng Daniel Bbosa, has been formally charged and remanded to Luzira prison.
Tabula appeared before Mwanga II Magistrate’s Court, chained and under tight security, to face accusations of murder contrary to Sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Court Act.
He showed no remorse before court presided over Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Mr Adam , stating he fought for his ancestral rights and leadership of the Ndiga clan.
The magistrate read the charge but did not allow Tabula to plead, citing lack of jurisdiction. He remanded until October 3.
Tabula joins five co-accused, already on remand, awaiting committal to the High Court for trial.
The five suspects are; Noah Lujja, 21, Harriet Nakiguli, 40, Joseph Nakabale, 47, Ezra Mayanja, 44, and Milly Naluwenda, 46.
Prosecution led by Caroline Mpumwire requested an adjournment to prepare committal papers.
The prosecution asserts that on February 25, 2024, at Kikandwa-Lungujja village in Rubaga Division, Kampala District, the accused individuals, together with others who remain at large, deliberately and unlawfully brought about the death of Eng. Daniel Kakeedo Bbosa, with premeditated malice.
Pretrial investigation revealed Tabula worked with a Buganda Kingdom Tradition Court clerk to hire Bbosa’s killers. The prosecution alleges Tabula and others unlawfully caused Bbosa’s death with malice aforethought.
