With less than a month to his much anticipated maiden show, A Pass gave his view on the issue of artists supporting fellow artists.
The Maria Rosa singer who was addressing the media ahead of his show slated for January 31 at the Kampala Serena Hotel thanked all the musicians that turned up to give him support.
“Big up to the artists that showed up today. Majority of these artists that you’re seeing here are going to buy tickets or are going to buy tables. That is how you support your fellow artists, not waiting for the show to be full so you can sing.”
He revealed he is not into the trade to look for friends but to give his fans a good time.
“Music is all about resilience. So many people fall off as people say, because sometimes they cannot take the pressure. Let me be honest with you, even if you abuse me. I look at this as fear, you are scared of me.”
He added: “Anyone who abuses me, I see it as fear. You’re scared of me. You’re scared of goodness. You’ve never seen anything like this. So you’re trying to put it down.”
He encouraged fellow artists to be strong regardless of those trying to pull them down.
“If anyone is trying to pull you down, just know they are already down. That is why they are pulling you down. You are up and keep being up. Struggle to stay up and above. So much pressure comes when you are in a certain position, and there is a lot of pressure for me when it comes to this concert.”
A Pass who actively joined the Ugandan music industry around 2014 will be making over 10 years in the music business.
He has a number of songs to his name topping charts such as Tuli Kubigere, Didadada, Wuuyo, Chupa ku Chupa, Gamululu, Memories (ft. Lilian Mbabazi), and Guliwano among several others.
The concert dubbed “A Pass Live in Concert” is expected to attract massive crowds as his fans have always yearned to watch him perform at his concert.
