Nakasongola, Uganda – Buruuli Kingdom has taken a significant step towards enhancing energy access with the donation of 30 solar panels.
The solar panels, handed over by Ambassador Mr Masembe Robinson, are part of efforts to promote sustainable development in the Kingdom.
Mr Masembe, who is also a businessman and Senior Pastor, pledged to develop the Kingdom through various projects and international aid when he was appointed Ambassador last year.
In addition to the solar panels, Mr Masembe has also established three boreholes outside the palace to address water scarcity in Nakasongola district.
Residents of the Kingdom have struggled to access clean water, often having to travel up to 6km to find a reliable source.
Isabaruuli Isabarongo Mwatyansozi Mwogezi Butamanya, who received the solar panels, praised Mr Masembe’s efforts, saying: “I am very happy that my Son Mr Masembe is doing exactly what he said he would do when I appointed him.”
The solar panels will be distributed to the first 30 households, with more expected to arrive soon to benefit additional families.
Isabaruuli also urged residents to handle the solar panels with care, saying: “I urge you to handle these solar panels with care because they have a guarantee of two years.”
