Kampala, Uganda – The father of Uganda’s top anti-corruption advisor, Col. Edith Nakalema, is set to be buried on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the family has said.
Rev. Eriasafu Serwadda, a respected clergyman, passed away on February 8, 2025.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Church of Uganda, Mbalwa, and was attended by John Musinguzi, Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority, and Allan Kagina, Executive Director of the Uganda National Roads Authority.
Sabiti Muzeyi, General Manager of Luweero Industries, and Dr. Faith Katana of State House were also in attendance.
The service was led by Rev. Dr. Andrew Nalumenya from Kamuli Church of Uganda, Namugongo.
Col. Nakalema, who heads the State House Investors Protection Unit, described her father’s passing as “heartbreaking”.
In an emotional message shared on her official X account, Col. Nakalema said, “As we grieve, we also celebrate Mzee Rev. Eriasafu Serwadda’s life – a life of love, wisdom, and unwavering faith.”
The family has called on friends and supporters to continue praying for them during this difficult time.
Another service is set for Monday, February 10, 2025, at All Saints COU Kanyeganyegye, in Kashari, with a vigil continuing at his residence.
Rev. Serwadda will be laid to rest on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
