KAMPALA – The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has announced the appointment of Dr. James Musinguzi, PhD, as its new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2025. Dr. Musinguzi, the former head of the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in conservation to his new role.
Dr. Musinguzi’s leadership in conservation has made a significant impact, and his appointment is widely seen as a positive development for UWA. His experience in managing conservation programs, working with local communities, and promoting sustainable tourism practices will be invaluable in guiding UWA’s growth and development.
As Executive Director, Dr. Musinguzi will be responsible for overseeing the management of Uganda’s national parks and wildlife reserves, as well as implementing conservation programs and policies. His vision for UWA is expected to focus on promoting sustainable conservation practices, supporting community-led conservation initiatives, and enhancing the overall visitor experience in Uganda’s protected areas.
