KAMPALA – Faridah Nambi, the NRM flag bearer, was officially nominated as a candidate for the Kawempe North Constituency parliamentary seat on Thursday at 12:45 pm. The nomination exercise was conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission Returning Officer for Kampala Electoral district, Mr. Henry Makabayi.
Nambi’s nomination was witnessed by the NRM director of Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, and other NRM leaders.
After her nomination, Nambi expressed her gratitude to the party for choosing her as the flag bearer. “I have the pleasure to hold the NRM Flag in this by-election, and promise to work together with the people of Kawempe North Constituency to ensure social economic transformation of our people,” she said.
Nambi acknowledged that the constituency faces various challenges, but she is confident that she can lobby for solutions from the ruling government. “The Constituency has various challenges that require an NRM person to lobby from the ruling Government. I present myself as the solution to those problems,” she added.
Later in the day, Nambi addressed her nomination rally at Kawempe Mbogo Muslim Primary School Grounds, where she reiterated her commitment to serving the people of Kawempe North Constituency.
The by-election for the Kawempe North Constituency parliamentary seat is scheduled to take place on March 13, 2025.
