
KAMPALA, UGANDA 17TH FEBRUARY 2025 – United Bank for Africa (UBA) ED/CEO Africa, Abiola Bawuah is on a 3-days visit in Uganda to reaffirm the bank’s dedication to the Country.
Bawuah is engaging with key stakeholders, including Government officials, business leaders, and customers. She emphasized UBA’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s economic growth and development.
“We are proud of our presence in Uganda and our contribution to the country’s financial landscape,” Bawuah said. “Our goal is to facilitate trade, investment, and economic integration across Africa, and Uganda is a critical partner in this journey.”
Bawuah also explored opportunities for growth and expansion in Uganda, particularly in the areas of digital banking, trade finance, and SME support, mostly taking advantage of the current UBA – AFCFTA partnership that is widely here to support all SME businesses.

UBA’s presence in Uganda dates back to 2008, with two branches in Kampala and one in Jinja, but currently, we are located in all regions (Central, West, East and North). The bank offers a range of financial services, including corporate and retail banking, trade finance, and treasury services.
Bawuah’s visit underscores UBA’s commitment to deepening its presence in Uganda, Africa and the rest of the world.
