In a somber announcement, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) revealed that Col. David Byaruhanga, the esteemed Commander of the 409 Brigade at Bondo Barracks in Arua District, has tragically passed away.
According to Capt. David Kamya, the 4th Division Public Relations Officer, Col. Byaruhanga succumbed to his ailments this afternoon at Nakasero Hospital, where he had been receiving medical attention.
Capt. Kamya eulogized the fallen commander, saying, “He has died as a Hero and we shall remember him.” Col. Byaruhanga’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves throughout the military ranks and the community at large, who mourn the loss of a dedicated and courageous leader.
