MENGO, Uganda — East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has donated 10 million Ugandan shillings to support the Buganda Kingdom’s efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, ahead of the upcoming Kabaka Birthday Run 2025.
The contribution was handed over at Bulange, Mengo, in a ceremony attended by Mr. Ben Kavuya, Chairman of EAMV, and Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda.
“As a responsible corporate entity, we are more than happy to support health-related initiatives,” Mr. Kavuya said during the ceremony. “The Buganda Kingdom has been championing a noble cause that affects everyone in our community.”
Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga received the contribution with appreciation. “I am pleased to receive my long-time friend Mr. Ben Kavuya, the Chairman of East African Medical Vitals,” he said. “We appreciate their support for Kingdom activities and their commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
The Kabaka Birthday Run has become a significant platform for raising awareness and challenging stigma around HIV/AIDS. EAMV’s contribution is a statement of solidarity and collective responsibility.
According to Dr. Joseph Kigozi, a local health expert, private sector involvement is crucial in the fight against HIV/AIDS. “Contributions like these go beyond financial support – they help break down barriers, challenge stigma, and bring critical resources to communities that need them most.”
EAMV’s donation reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to community health. As a leading medical consumables manufacturer in Sub-Saharan Africa, EAMV has consistently demonstrated that its impact goes beyond manufacturing medical supplies.
The company’s mission is to provide sustainable, high-quality, and affordable medical products. This contribution is a meaningful expression of that mission and a testament to the company’s commitment to social responsibility.
