SOROTI – FDC President Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, a prominent figure in Uganda’s political landscape, and several MPs from Teso, including Hon. Alobo Joan and Hon. Jonathan Ebwaru, were unexpectedly arrested and taken away from Soroti City. The whereabouts of the detained leaders and the reasons behind their arrest remain shrouded in mystery.
Police is yet to reveal the charges against the arrested opposition leaders.
As the situation unfolds, supporters of the FDC and human rights activists are calling for the immediate release of Amuriat and the other detained leaders.
