KAMPALA – In a move aimed at bolstering the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has promoted three senior officers to the rank of Acting Major General.
The promoted officers include Brigadier General Charles Byanyima, Brigadier General Deus Sande, and Brigadier General Daniel Kakono.
This development is part of the new establishment’s efforts to strengthen the military and recognize outstanding service.
According to Felix M Kulayigye, Acting Major General and Director Defence Public Information, “The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the General officers for their well-deserved promotions.”
Kulayigye noted that the promotions are a testament to the officers’ flawless track records of excellent service.
“The UPDF has been working to strengthen its ranks and recognize outstanding service, and these promotions are a significant step in that direction.”
