His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Grand Mufti of Uganda, has arrived safely in Tehran, Iran, to participate in the prestigious international conference themed “Holy Qur’an & International Diplomacy”. As a facilitator, Mufti Mubaje will share Uganda’s experience in promoting interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities.
“I am honored to represent Uganda at this esteemed conference, where we will explore the vital role of the Holy Qur’an in shaping international relations and fostering diplomacy,” Mufti Mubaje stated upon his arrival in Tehran.
The conference has attracted scholars, diplomats, and religious leaders from over 30 countries, aiming to explore the role of the Holy Qur’an in shaping international relations, fostering diplomacy, and addressing global challenges through Islamic principles.
“We believe that the teachings of the Holy Qur’an offer valuable insights into promoting peace, justice, and understanding among nations and communities,” Mufti Mubaje emphasized. “As a Muslim leader, I am committed to sharing Uganda’s experiences in promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation.”
Mufti Mubaje’s presence at the conference underscores Uganda’s commitment to international religious diplomacy and cooperation. As a respected Islamic leader, Mufti Mubaje has played a key role in fostering unity within Uganda’s Muslim community and strengthening relations with other religious groups.
“Uganda is a shining example of peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities,” Mufti Mubaje noted. “We have worked tirelessly to promote interfaith dialogue and understanding, and we are eager to share our experiences with the global community.”
The Tehran conference is set to conclude with recommendations on how Islamic teachings can be integrated into diplomatic practices worldwide. As a recognized voice in African Islamic leadership, Mufti Mubaje’s contributions are expected to add valuable perspectives to these discussions.

Mufti Mubaje is accompanied by Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC).
