The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court has set a hearing date for a hate speech case against former Deputy Resident City Commissioner Herbert Anderson Burora.
Burora is accused of sharing malicious information about Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among on his social media handle.
During a court session, Burora informed Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi that negotiations with the Speaker of Parliament had failed.
Kayizzi subsequently adjourned the matter until May 7 for the hearing to begin.
Burora faces six counts of hate speech and spreading malicious communication. He denies the charges, which allege that he shared information portraying Among as a torturer, murderer, kidnapper, and corrupt individual.
