
KAMPALA – The Kampala Metropolitan Police have on Saturday 15, June arrested two more suspects allegedly connected to the recent murder of two women.
The two women were gunned down in Zana on Monday, June 10, 2019.
The total number of culprits suspected to have been involved has risen to three following the first arrest of Mr. Muluuta Stanely.
The suspects have been identified as Mr. Onechan Emma and Magusho Denis who are former convicts.
Both suspects were recently released and are highly connected to the multiple shootings.
In a statement, Police revealed that” the suspects were arrested while they were planning another robbery mission of a mobile money dealer in Mutukula.”
In addition, an AK-47 gun was recovered in the operation bringing the total number of guns recovered to three.
The suspects are being charged with a range of crimes including three counts of murder, attempted murder, robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
Police has further noted that the search for other suspects accused of being part of the armed criminal gang in the robberies is still on-going in the areas of Nansana, Mpererwe, and Kajjansi.
Business operators have been cautioned to restrict the amount of cash on hand to help make the robberies less lucrative.
It is alleged that on June 10, five thugs riding on three unidentified motorcycles robbed Harriet Nalwadda 33, the owner of a mobile money shop and her employee Maureen Nakabubi 25, both residents of Zana, Makindye division Saabagabo.
The deceased was robbed of an unspecified amount of money and were later shot dead. The duo was shot near their shop as they were heading home.
