
RUBANDA – Police in Rubanda is hunting for unknown assailants that shot and killed a 55-year-old business man.
The deceased has been identified as Samuel Twinomujuni, a resident of Kibungo village Kaara parish Muko s/c Rubanda district.
He was waylaid on Friday night of August 23, 2019 at around 21:30 hours.
Twinomujuni was waylaid a few meters to his home, shot in the back and died instantly.
It’s alleged that he closed his shop normally at Kaara trading centre and on his way home as he approached his house, he was shot and died on the spot.
Police was notified, rushed to the scene and found him in a pool of blood.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police mouthpiece castigated the individuals who interfere in the rights of others noting that its acting beyond Ugandan laws.
“As police, we shall not sit back and see many Ugandans dying in such a manner, we are hunting down the assailants and whoever can render any information about the killing can as well help police in investigation,” Maate narrated.
Mr. Maate says that “killings are on the increase in Kigezi region and that as police, they are working hard to have such criminals arrested and brought to book.”
The police spokesman added that postmortem has been done and Inquiries have been initiated vide Muko SD 20/23/08/19.
