
OMORO – A 30-year-old Kenyan national Mr Emma Oge has on Friday, September 13, been robbed of UGX 95 million from Opit Central Village in Omoro Town Council.
A robbery case has been recorded at Opit Police Station at 10:00 am on Friday morning under CRB 436/2019.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa Police Spokesman confirmed the incident.
According to the region’s Police Spokesman, Oge was found lying unconscious at the scene in Opit Central Village.
Police noted that one suspect identified as Denis Olal, the victim’s driver who is a resident of Omoro, is still at large and is wanted on allegations that he planned the robbery and beating of the Kenyan man.
“Suspect one Olal Denis a Langi by tribe and resident of Omoro and driver to the Victim is at large driving motor vehicle Fuso truck registration number KBB 188B,” Okema said.
“The driver stopped around some bushy area for a short call and two armed men dressed in a maroon uniform emerged from the bush and ordered the victim to surrender everything including his money worth UGX 95million and they vanished aboard a Bajaj motorcycle UEE 175Q to an unknown destination,” he further explained.
The scene was visited by a team of top police officials from Omoro Central Police Station and the OC of Opit Police Station.
The victim was transferred from Lacor Health Center III in Opit where he was had been rushed for treatment, he was eventually transferred to St Mary’s Hospital Lacor in Gulu town for further management since he was still unconscious.
However, no exhibits were recovered and the victim is being closely monitored in order to avail more information on what happened once he gains consciousness.
