KISORO – The body of an unidentified man has been discovered on Tuesday, September 16, lying near Mubano Hotel in Nyamirima Village, Central Division in Kisoro Municipality.
According to the Chairperson of Nyamirima Village John Nturo, the body of a man seemingly in his 30s was discovered on Tuesday morning at around 7:30am by children who were going to school, it’s these pupils who alerted other locals.
“The children were going to school in the morning when they found this body lying by the side of the path they were taking. They later informed other natives who rushed to the scene of crime and later alerted police,” Mr. Nturo narrated how they came to know about the incident.
Mr. Nturo says that “the deceased was found with no identification”.
Mr. Nturo now wants security officials to tighten security in the area saying that this is the second time to discover the body of an unidentified man within a space of two months.
The Kisoro District Police Commander Patrick Okoto says that the deceased’s body has been taken to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
Mr. Okoto says that “the deceased was found with bruises on his body, a sign that he was murdered”.
Mr. Okot, however, asked the public that whoever has information leading to his death should hand it to police so that the culprits are arrested and charged accordingly.
“It’s our appeal as police that whoever might have information pertaining the death of this man to render the information to us, so that such culprits can be brought to book and charged accordingly,” Mr. Okot noted.
