KAMPALA – Police have in custody a man who was allegedly found stealing telecommunication cables in the city centre.
Wambere Massette, a resident of Kawanda was arrested on Thursday night.
Police say while on normal Patrols along Ben Kiwanuka street, they sighted three persons who were vandalising Uganda Telecom Cables in a Manhole who immediately took off on seeing a Patrol car but Massette, one of whom was caught.
Massete had several exhibits that included Spades, Helmets, a Saw for cutting, metals for opening manholes were all collected at the scene.
The suspect was later handed over to CPS Kampala for interrogation and Possible arrest of his colleagues who are currently on the run.
