KAMPALA – Old Kampala Police have on the wee hours Friday arrested eight suspected thugs, four of whom were armed and recovered four motorcycles, cash UGX1,096,000 that had been robbed.
The robbery took place at Premier Sports Betting LTD located in Bukesa near Bukesa traffic lights at around 3 am.
According to police, the thugs armed with a rifle attacked the cashiers of the betting company, put them on gunpoint before demanding for money and mobile phone sets.
“We got a tip-off and later organised for a response,” said police in a statement, adding that “An SAR rifle and mobile phone sets were also recovered.”
Police also revealed that two of the suspects are attached to SGA security company.
