KAMPALA – Police in Kabalagala have arrested one suspect on allegations of assault and disrupting elections.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says the incident allegedly happened on September 2, 2020 at Jack and Jill polling station, Kyene Zone in Kabalagala Makindye Division.
“Musingizi Ronald, 20, a resident of the same area unlawfully assaulted Lunkuse Hasifah, 25, who had lined up for voting thereby causing her bodily harm,” he said in a statement.
He added that the victim reported the case and was issued with medical form and she was examined.
“The medical Doctor report indicated that the injuries were harmful,” said Onyango.
He further noted that the suspect has been arrested and detained at Kabalagala Police station.
“The case file has been submitted to State Attorney for perusal and legal advice,” reads an excerpt.
