
MAKERERE – The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations for the Academic Year 2019/2020 held on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
According to results seen by this website, more than half of the students who sat for just released exams Mature Age Entry examinations have failed.
Out of the 746 students who did the tests in December on either the science or arts programme, 309 students (41 percent) passed the exams while 437 (59 percent) failed.
In the humanities-based course, only 105 passed the examinations out of the 225 students.
However, in science-based courses, 464 out of 623 who sat for the exams.
The science students performed better than their arts counterparts.
Mr. Alfred Masikye, the university academic registrar said those students who scored 50 percent and more qualify to join the university in various courses.
“The candidates who scored a final mark of 50 percent and above passed the aptitude exams and will have their programmes,” a notice signed by Mr. Masikye stated.
They are expected to report with the rest of the students when the 2018/2019 academic year starts in August.
