
KAMPALA – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will release the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) 2018 results Thursday, February, 28. UNEB officials confirmed on Wednesday that the senior six results will be released at President’s Office, Kampala at 10 am.
State Minister for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo who will preside, UNEB officials confirmed.
The development has been confirmed by Ministry of Education spokesperson Patrick Muinda.
“The results will be released tomorrow February 28, 2019, at 10 am at the President’s office in the main auditorium,” he said adding that Minister of state for higher education will release them in acting capacity at the Minister of Education and Sports,” Muinda.
UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odongo together with UNEB chairperson Prof Mary Okwakol on Tuesday, February 26 briefed the minister on students’ performance.
A total of 99,672 students registered for 2018 UACE out of who 53,359 are males and 41,313 females from 2,217 centres across the country. Details of the meeting have, however, remained undisclosed to the media.
The number of candidates registered for the 2018 UACE reduced by 2,335 compared to the 102,007 candidates who sat for UACE exams in 2017.
Of the registered candidates for 2018, the Government sponsored candidates are 18,550 (including 12,577 males and 5,973 females), while private candidates are 81,122 (including 45,782 males and 35,340 females).
The confirmation comes at a time when students and parents have been waiting for results with bated breaths.
UNEB executive secretary Dan Odongo recently said that those who will not be able to go to schools and pick results will access the results by SMS or via the internet.
